FPL relaunches with unlimited transfers for all managers

Fantasy Premier League has re-launched ahead of a return to playing action later this month.

The top-flight of English football will be back on our screens from Wednesday, June 17 and we now have confirmation of how our favourite Fantasy game will follow suit.

The game makers have formally announced the next deadline, at 17:00 BST on June 17, will be for an unprecedented ‘Double Gameweek 30+’ rather than ‘Double Gameweek 39’.

More importantly, it has also been revealed that, between now and the beginning of Double Gameweek 30+, all Fantasy managers will have access to unlimited transfers.

They will be able to make as many changes as they like to their current squads without incurring points penalties, just as is the case at the start of any new season.

This means that, in accordance with FPL rules, the second Wildcard chip will be unavailable for Gameweek 30+. However, anyone wishing to deploy a Bench Boost or Triple Captain will be able to do so. The Free Hit chip is also available for Double Gameweek 30+. If deployed, a manager’s squad would revert to how it was left for Gameweek 38 when Gameweek 31+ arrives.

The second Wildcard can be used from Gameweek 31+ onwards.

Managers may also want to proceed with caution when removing players from their squads compared to unlimited transfers over the pre-season. That is because prices of all Fantasy assets remain the same as they were following the Gameweek 38 deadline on Sunday, May 17.

That means Fantasy managers would lose money if they were to sell a player they made a profit on and subsequently brought him back into their squad.

Now that FPL has officially relaunched, with fixtures to boot, don’t forget to stay tuned to all the Fantasy Football Scout content.

We have already made significant headway into preparation work for Gameweek 30+, which you can access in full on our website.

We have put together an official Project Restart Page which will tell you everything you need to know ahead of the next deadline. This regularly updated page contains every article, fulfilling much the same function as the Pre-Season Page does each summer.

You can also get a taster of the content already available by looking at the Project Restart footer below.

I still don’t understand how the number 30 can come after the number 38. Isn’t that just a wormhole waiting to happen?

I'm happy with my team following the slow Wildcard since GW30, and so will go ahead and play the FH for the DGW I think.

If I bench boost, it'll be for the likes of Leno / Targett / Douglas Luz & Saka/Nketiah. Not sure if that's worth it.

not to brag (haha) but i have BB FH TC WC, all chips available. should i look to load up on doublers and play both BB and TC (can I do that?) then WC to a team for the rest of season after first week back?
    hope that made sense haha...

You can't play two chips in one week, so it'd be either BB or TC (or FH)

You should spend some time mourning the fact that there's no big DGW's to REALLY reap the rewards of having saved all your chips.

Everybody is going to have unlimited transfers going into the season restart. And, after the 1st underwhelming DGW, you won't be able to press home the advantage anything like if there blanks and DGW's to come....

Those with FH, BB and 2nd WC still in-tact...

Surely the best approach is to use unlimited transfers to stock up on ARS/MCI/SHU/AVL assets, BB in GW 30+, and then WC in GW 31+?

Probably a fair amount, but I don't see any other option.

Injuries will only mount as the GWs go on, meaning BB will be more ineffective.

This looks to be the only DGW of the season meaning we have an extra opportunity to capitalise on the teams playing twice.

Wildcarding in GW 31+ will also then allow to me to being the talismen/90 minute men/CBs etc.

Potentially yes. It's the way I'll likely go.

However using FH this week and still WCing next week also has merit, because it allows you to protect your TV - you may look to sell Liverpool / United players this week who you might have a lot of TV in.

Can only get 12 dgw players max so I'll keep TAA Salah and Fernandes I reckon

True. See my above post though. I don't think there'll be a better opportunity to use BB all season than in 30+, though.

Helps that it also coincides with the Merseyside derby and Spurs v Utd - I think we can get away with not owning many of these assets this GW.

GW 31+ can then bring in the the talismen, and the cheaper, hopefully nailed enablers (Justin, Holgate etc), and can sort our benches.

I am in this position with chips, but problem is I already have DCL and Jiminez in my squad and I want them long term. If I sold to load up on DGWs and wildcarded back in GW31+ I would lose 0.6 in value. Does/should this matter at all?

See my above posts. I think we're at the stage now where GW30+ is easily the best GW in BB. Only DGW of the season. You could BB later in the season but there'll be even more chance of rotation/injury etc. By bench boosting now, you've got the safety net of 4 teams playing an extra game, and most teams should have a clean bill of health.

I will lose 0.5 total on 3 players. 0.1 on Pope (which I will probably get back), 0.1 on Boly (which I will probably bet back or go for Saiss) and the one that really hurts a bit 0.3 on Jimenez. But its doable

Do you keep (preserving team value) or sell (maximise DGW opportunity)?

True but we also dont know what players are on form, I'll still have enough cover from dgw players. I understand why people are playing it but think the team I have now is better over the next 4 weeks with BB33

Sorry guys, I only skimmed the article so it seems I was spreading false information about the FH chip earlier. So sorry about that!

But, if it's definitely true that if playing FH this gameweek then your team will revert back to what it was pre-covid shutdown... then that makes it completely pointless to play it this week. And, they may as well have just not made the button live at all.

As a holder of my 2nd WC, BB and FH - this free-for-all seems to make my decision harder if anything - the BB GW 30 looked the most sensible of options.

Now I think I have two options, first is to use the unlimited trades to make what would have been my free hit team, wildcarding the week after to a team for the duration of the season and having the BB later down the line... but this then has the down side of losing player value - if i choose to bring back any of my current squad.

Secondly, bench boost as planned and revert back to my current squad - which isnt too bad, but then I feel like I am missing out on the free transfers being given to everyone else...

If you have wildcard and free hit. You essentially get 2 free hits with unlimited transfers. And u can use BB/TC for the DGW.

Whereas, if, like me, you have everything apart from WC you're stumped. You only get 1 free hit. Can only use TC/BB in single gameweeks unless you want your team to be completely unready after DGW. That's going to be a massive disadvantage...

1st week - Load up on DGW and prime fixtures using unlimited transfers. Activate Bench Boost.
2nd week - The players I'm looking at bringing in should be able to play this week too.
    3rd week - Activate FH
4th week - WC here seems best due to potential fixtures

I'm now looking at BB first week and then a WC after to remove Villa players plus some of the excess City, Ars & SHU players. And, also to remove money from the bench positions into my 1st XI.

Then maybe a FH for the last game of the season getting in the form players and a few punts.

Hes a good choice but watch out for Iheanacho who may affect his minutes. Personally I'd prefer Rashford or Jimmy

Setting up for the double, bench boosting, then wildcarding not that straightforward given you’d lose about 1mill on players like Salah, Trent, Fernandes...

Surely very little tied up in Salah.

I won't be losing TAA or Bruno on my BB.

I've accepted I'm going to lose 0.2 on Salah. But it's worth it being able to get Auba, KDB & Kun for DGW

I'm struggling to figure out if this news is positive or negative for me as a WC, BB & FH holder? Am I better off from this or do those who spunked their chips off catch up a bit

How could you possibly be worse off when you can make unlimited transfers and BB in a DGW then WC out of the dross and still have FH for a bad fixture week? 🙄

Because those with crap teams that have used their wildcards now have a chance to rectify their teams entirely and are much better off

They will pick for the dgw and then be goosed

Same, also BB to have 12 instead of... 11? Big deal, especially when that 12th will be a scrub from Villa.

    Pope
    TAA / Saiss / Maguire
    Salah / KDB / Bruno / Martial / Son
    Jimenez / DCL
    McCarthy / Ayew / Fernandez / Tanganga

I’ve no 2nd WC but I do have FH and BB..

Thinking I may have to FH as I’m happy with the team?

I'm in the same spot as you with chips and using BB. Plan would be to bring in Rashford, Son and Fernandes in the upcoming weeks for the likes of Aubameyang and Sterling. FH could be useful in later weeks when you want to make 3-4 changes and not take a hit.
