Which Watford players should FPL managers consider in 2019/20?

It’s as you were for Watford going into the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

At the time of writing and with just 24 hours before the transfer window closes, the Hornets had made only two first-team signings this summer – one of them Danny Welbeck.

Centre-half Craig Dawson (£5.0m) has arrived from West Bromwich Albion and he was the only player not on the books in 2018/19 who was involved in Watford’s final pre-season friendly against Real Sociedad last weekend.

Javi Gracia’s side are also set to be lining up in their familiar 4-2-2-2/4-4-2 shape, with the Watford boss having briefly experimented with a three-man backline in their penultimate friendly against QPR.

We can be fairly confident about the system and personnel going into Gameweek 1 and beyond, then, but what can Fantasy managers expect from Watford’s players this season and are they worthy of consideration?

      It’s as good as it gets if you go for SSK.

      Personally the negatives / rotation risk of KWP, Coleman, Barkley and Ings outweighs the benefits of Kane - especially as you aren’t going to have many weeks to want to captain Kane in the first 6

        I am not adverse to WCing early. Last year did it in December because I felt I had to and it ruined my team!

      I can’t bring myself to start with Bmouth double up given the fixtures.

      It’s a wait and see for me to start with. ESP with Better alternatives to Fraser our there.

        Given the fixtures? The fixtures are the main reason many have double bmouth! You may find yourself waiting for 2 weeks, bournemouth going off but would be bringing them in as many are taking out (for the city game)!

          Cant do much better in 541 with SSK- nice work.
          Just rememver this formation has been proven not to work over a season but fine for now. Just be ready to jump on the cheap mid or forwards that are working out and change that formation in the short term.

            Robinson seems like biggest gamble to me. Would you do Robinson, Digne & Dunk -> Perez, Coleman & Lundstram? Would mean starting Lundstram/Dendoncker.

              Maybe leave it. While Sheffield have ok fixture til it turns really pear shaped you could leave it but how about McGinn instead? Much better fixtures after GW1 and did decent on goals and assists last year.

      The value is in midfield and defence with premium strikers offering poor value these days. So I think it's a sensible way forward.
