The impact Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had on United’s Fantasy assets

The jury is still out on Manchester United’s Fantasy assets going into the new campaign.

The new manager bounce that the club experienced after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment in December gave way to some middling form in the final nine Gameweeks of the season.

Their pre-season results (five wins from six) have been quietly encouraging, at least, with Inter Milan and Spurs among the teams already beaten in July.

This latest Numbers Game piece differs from the usual format as we focus on the impact Solskjaer had on United’s assets in the second half of last season.

The Norwegian first took charge of the Red Devils in Gameweek 18, so we will examine United’s stats before and after the departure of Jose Mourinho.

    Pickford - (Stekelenburg)
    VVD - Digne - AWB - (Rico) - (Ramsey)
Salah - De Bruyne - Maddison - Barkley - (Hayden)
    Kane - King - Haller

Any obvious red flags in there? I understand my subs a

As long as you are comfortable with Kane over sterling as your 2nd premium pick it's a good team

So Maguire from the start...casuals pick or sensible to cover likely high ownership?

I don't believe picking highly owned players is necessarily sensible. In any case, he's English and plays for United which is usually a good recipe for some inflated ownership.

there isn't anyone convincing in that range, that's why they are priced at 4. I may take the risk with Kelly but palace have been poor

Yeah, might downgrade Coleman and get a couple of good 4.5s instead.

issue with kelly is, I believe he's been playing cb and tomkins/sakho could be back soon

1 goal and 3 assists last season in just over 1100 minutes ain't bad. Seen him play and has good delivery. Just a matter of whether the donks up front can convert.

With the emergence of viable 4.5 keeper options , only one final(??) decision for my GW! team to be done:

    A) Fraser + Zinchenko
    or
    B) KDB + Dunk/Montoya

😆 the reactions to these two teams are always so divided haha this decision is killing me

I think every defender in B outscores their counterpart by 30 points minimum, I think Kane outscores Wilson by 50 or so points and he’s a better captaincy candidate.

One point in favor of team 1 is that I can easily do Kane>Haller and Barkley>Son which is a move I might be making eventually.

The drawback with Kane for me is there are very few weeks I’d captain him over Salah or Sterling

Sokratis or Chambers the best shouts in defence, I don't see Mustafi starting. Monreal might rotate with Kola and AMN possibly at threat if Arsenal manage to sign a decent RB.

Probably AWB, sounds the most attacking from what I have read (not seen a Utd PS game I am afraid)

      Damn, clicked post by accident

      Rest of team is
      Fraser (Barkley)
      Kane Wilson Wood

It leaves 1.5 ITB which I'm not sure is a great move. Thoughts please?

It's very strange mate. You've got £1.5m sat in the bank and have £19.5m sat on the bench.
Starting squad value should be around £83m in my opinion yours is way too low.

    RMT

    Heaton(Button)

    Laporte/Robertson/Coleman/VVD(Lundstram)

    Salah/KDB/Sigurdsson/Fraser/Perez

    Vardy(Greenwood/Wickham)

Always the option of going Sterling + King, however I feel Vardy + KDB will score higher and I'm happy to captain Salah every week until I wildcard.

Nice 7/10, I would be a little worried about Vardy personally, but go with your gut.

Thanks, I don't feel the appeal of a lot of the 6.5's. In Vardy I have a striker that isn't too far from an 11m forward so can always upgrade if it isn't going well.

Can't remember where I saw this but Vardy averaged over 7 points a game under Rogers. I can see him being very good value this season.

        GDE STE BRACA SRBI!

Ja volim da igram sa 4.5 i 4.0 GK. Kad sam imao Fabianski i Foster prosle godine popizdeo sam kad sam izabrao pogresnog golmana.
