FPL relaunches with unlimited transfers for all managers

Fantasy Premier League has re-launched ahead of a return to playing action later this month.

The top-flight of English football will be back on our screens from Wednesday, June 17 and we now have confirmation of how our favourite Fantasy game will follow suit.

The game makers have formally announced the next deadline, at 17:00 BST on June 17, will be for an unprecedented ‘Double Gameweek 30+’ rather than ‘Double Gameweek 39’.

More importantly, it has also been revealed that, between now and the beginning of Double Gameweek 30+, all Fantasy managers will have access to unlimited transfers.

They will be able to make as many changes as they like to their current squads without incurring points penalties, just as is the case at the start of any new season.

This means that, in accordance with FPL rules, the second Wildcard chip will be unavailable for Gameweek 30+. However, anyone wishing to deploy a Bench Boost or Triple Captain will be able to do so. The Free Hit chip is also available for Double Gameweek 30+. If deployed, a manager’s squad would revert to how it was left for Gameweek 38 when Gameweek 31+ arrives.

The second Wildcard can be used from Gameweek 31+ onwards.

Managers may also want to proceed with caution when removing players from their squads compared to unlimited transfers over the pre-season. That is because prices of all Fantasy assets remain the same as they were following the Gameweek 38 deadline on Sunday, May 17.

That means Fantasy managers would lose money if they were to sell a player they made a profit on and subsequently brought him back into their squad.

    Chip strategy plans? I have Bench Boost, Free Hit and Second Wildcard all still in tact and no idea what to do.

    Go aggressive, build a DGW focused bench boost squad and then wildcard out?

      As below....

      I'll pick a side that looks good for say the first 6 games or so. Then I'll play my free hit for DGW and load up on DGWers.

      Then after DGW, my team should revert back to the team I picked using unlimited transfers (I think)

      So no, your team won't include the new transfers in GW31 if you FH

      It’s the same for any other GW for the FH - even if you made a transfer then came back and FH-ed later, that first transfer would be undone by your FH.

      If it makes you feel any better I played my TC on Auba in the GW where FPL suddenly stopped after Arteta contracted Covid-19.

      Was an absolute disaster of a GW. But par for the course I suppose, as I always always f**k up my TC chip

        Pick a team you are happy with (discounting DGW 39). Confirm transfers.

        Then, play the free hit chip and pick a side purely for GW39.

        Then it should revert to the team you picked using unlimited transfers after that

            The reason free hit button is active I think is to stop you losing out on money, which you would if you use unlimited transfers and want to bring a player back in later - As prices would stay same as you had them

          That is not how free hit works. When you press the free hit button whether before or after making transfers makes not difference to the outcome. Your team will revert to the previous game week in the next game week - it will revert to what your team is at GW38.

      I have all 3.

      But not even moist actually.

      I'd much rather have them for 2 (or more) DGW's - one being a bumper DGW as well.

      In SGW's, they are less of a 'wow factor'.

      I have no idea when I will use my BB. And, I'll probably end up having a strong bench just for that one GW when I decide to play my BB., And all the other weeks I'll have lots of money sat on the bench

        I think its best to play it in the first GW. Players will be fit enough to last 60 minutes and managers will want to get their best team playing well together. After a few games of playing every 3 days its way more of a crapshoot.

    Well done FPL well and truly punished those who play this religiously for those who will ditch the game before the end of the season.

    Those with wildcards still left will absolutely destroy this end of the season whereas I who have used my second wildcard are pretty much screwed. No enjoyment left for me whatsoever.

        Its a huge advantage. You can use unlimited transfers to set yourself up for the DGW (playing your BB chip you still have it), and then WC to the squad you want for the run in.

      Agree with you mate. Didnt use my second wildcard but moulded my team very heavily with several hits and big changes to set my team up for upcoming fixtures like a wildcard, and will see absolutely no gain and have the playing field leveled instead. My hits and efforts to plan ahead will be a waste of time. Same as your wildcard to setup for future fixtures (which are identical and haven't changed) will see no gain as teams may form the same new meta to start with based on fixtures.

        Thats not really the case. Those that used a wildcard before lockdown, if they knew this would happen would never have used it and will see no gain from it. You gain by being able to adjust your team against others with fixture swings etc. And those fixtures have to play out to see the gain. If you play a wildcard and then the next game week everyone has a free wildcard its useless. So some people are disadvantaged for sure. Personally I have my second wildcard still and will not be personally affected much but I agree with this post because this isnt necessary to be honest. More players are back from injury, the fixtures are identical to what they were going to be before, so whats there to lose with using the same team you had before lockdown.

      I've created a team that has a mixture of both dgw and dgw players tbf. With no 2nd WC available plan would be to downgrade Sterling and Auba to afford Rashford, Fernandes and Son in later weeks.
