The jury is still out on Manchester United’s Fantasy assets going into the new campaign.

The new manager bounce that the club experienced after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment in December gave way to some middling form in the final nine Gameweeks of the season.

Their pre-season results (five wins from six) have been quietly encouraging, at least, with Inter Milan and Spurs among the teams already beaten in July.

This latest Numbers Game piece differs from the usual format as we focus on the impact Solskjaer had on United’s assets in the second half of last season.

The Norwegian first took charge of the Red Devils in Gameweek 18, so we will examine United’s stats before and after the departure of Jose Mourinho.

        It's not that obvious. Klopp admits the team is not ready, a week short of sharpness. Norwich at home in 2 weeks might be a no-brainer, but on Friday I can see Salah blanking. City and Sterling look the more raring to go.

                    He isn’t even in 70% of teams! Because:

                    - people think he is too expensive or casuals will get Mane as he is cheaper

                    - people will try to come up with reasons why he isn’t a good captain pick

              Been dithering a long time over that. I think Zink's place is a bit less secure with 2 LBs champing at the bit as opposed to the one competitor for Stones' place (I don't see Fernandinho playing CB). If Stones' form drops just a little bit, he stays; if Zinks' form drops a little bit Angelino and later Mendy are straight in.

              Of course if I've got it the wrong way round it's an easy transfer!

      For me it would be a no brained to start with KDB and then monitor Pepe.

      KDB is fit, raring to go after last seasons injuries and is proven FPL gold. Pepe hasn’t even played for arsenal yet and whilst his stats from the french league are great that is a long long way from doing it in the premiership - so wait and see for me

    Without referring to the FPL pricing which players would you class as 'premium'?

    I'd go...
    GK: Alisson, Ederson, De Gea
    DF: TAA, Robertson, VVD, Laporte, Walker, Mendy, Alonso, Azpi, Digne
    MF: Salah, Mane, Sterling, KDB, Sane, Son. Eriksen
    FW: Aguero, Jesus, Kane, Auba, Laca, Vardy, Lukaku

    Premium theory is cramming as many of these players in as possible, which would gravitate towards playing 5 defenders.

    Are there any players you would add or remove from the above list of premiums?

          Sorry mate, It’s early morning my brains not functioning properly!

          But no, the way I look at the pricing is just purely on pricing. Premiums in my eyes are 9.5 and above. I wouldn’t class a 7M mid a premium, so therefore don’t look st a 7M def as a premium.

      I'd remove De Gea from your list. I think FPL Towers are pretty much right on the nail with their pricing.

        On my GW3 WC I'm looking at bring in De Gea. Man Utd's backline should be settled by then.
        De Gea, Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, AWB being protected by Matic... pretty solid, and fixtures of Palace then Saints.

    Not sure I agree with ordering the players by minutes per chance. Rashford takes a lot of low percentage shots from outside the box. Minutes per xG is probably better.
