    A couple of thoughts

With Spain and Italy having all group fixtures at home against decent opposition targeting their players looks good option.

Thinking playing limitless in MD3 might be best plan-we will know Italy Turkey Wales and Switzerland line ups before deadline and will also have idea of which teams need the win to qualify and which teams might rest players

Is Jorginho fit for the opener? Seems such a low ownership for his price point considering penalties

I think it's because he was added to the game late.

Not really a fan of the triple Italy in that side to target the first match day. Turkey have been very good recently.

Besides that and Nego it's a pretty strong team. I expect Russia and Ukraine to give Belgium and the Netherlands really hard games too.

Think my last decider (minus team preview of Italy) is between Wijndal or Pau Torres. In my head wijndal more likely to start AND he is not playing on the last game day so less risk. What have you gone for?

Not much change for me today. Just 5 solid captain choices:

    Hradecky.
    Kjaer. Bonucci(c1). Meunier. Wijndal. P.Torres.
    Chiesa. Alaba .Eriksen.
    Lukaku(Cap2). DePay(Cap3).

    Subs: Chezny. Nego. F.Torres(c4). Ronaldo(Cap5)

        I like the Stones pick.

Can see England keeping clean sheets as they set up defensively, and he has an eye for goal.
Its him or Bonucci for me.

A LOT in defence. But then I have Bonucci and Meunier (potentially OOP) so fairdos. Krul dodgy. Kante haolding mid. Rubbish FF prospects. Evertone jumping on this Mainovski wagon. Ukraine are gonna get humped.

    Good article Northie.
I'm worried about using my wildcard in matchday 3 ; perhaps a little rotation for sides qualified, 5m more to spend on wildcard in knockouts, less players to choose from in knockouts narrowing the wildcard fail, and doubles as a surprise knockout cover.

I read the article as us all getting a WC when the group stage ends? I didn't think that was the case until reading it. Anyone clarify?

That is correct yes. “ You can also make as many transfers as you like between the group stage and round of 16.”

The main reason not to is you may need it later in the tournament if you gamble on the wrong teams and a lot of your players go out in the knockout rounds, you may then be unable to cover a full squad with FT.

Im going with Lukaku & Depay for sure. Both are in the form of their life and on pens

Ronaldo --> Mbappe/Kane looks like a good MD2 transfer as well, but it leads to massive compromises elsewhere

    From the rules:
"You only get one Wildcard throughout the tournament, although there are unlimited transfers between the group stage and knockout stage."

So... are those unlimited transfers, for free, between the group stage and the knockout stage?

If so, how is that not a second wildcard?

    1. Dr. Rog
      • 14 Years

Play your Limitless in MD3 not MD2 to take advantage of better fixtures and low ownership differentials.

Play your WC before the QFs or in MD2 if you want to roll the dice and really attack the groups stages.

    1. Baron Penguin
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 3 Years

I think limitless has the most value in MD2 where we know all of the expensive assets that we want will be involved. Then use WC in MD3 to cherry pick players from teams with something to play for and with advance knowledge of how all Group A teams will be lining up.

      1. Dr. Rog
        • 14 Years
        2 years, 9 months ago

has anyone tried to build a limitless MD2 team yet?

just thinking about the strikers - Kane (SCO), Mbappe (HUN), Depay (AUS) on paper seem the most desirable.

I'm going with the same chip strategy as the one outlined in this article. Current draft is

    Krul / Marshall
    Guerreiro / Florenzi (C1) / Alba (C4) / Hinteregger (C3) / Maehle
    Eriksen / Berghuis / Chiesa / Alaba / Colwill
    Ronaldo (C5) / Lukaku (C2) / Milik

Aight. Then I'll raise you, and also bet a tenner on the following 4.5 good defending options for the first GW:
            Mæhle
            Kjær
            Denayer
            Alioski
            Hinteregger
            Wijndal
            Bednarek

And just to make it interesting I'll throw a start after Bastoni too.

At the minute I'd say Chiesa & Malinovskyi, but if it starts to become clear that Olmo will start then Chiesa & Olmo

I thought Berghuis playing in the front 3 would be likelier to get chances. I'm looking at Paddy Power's anytime scorer odds for the Ukraine game now and they have Berghuis at 7/5 and Frenkie at 9/1
