    So I really got screwed in R16, with this bunch now:

    Options:
    A) -8 for Pickford, Sterling, Sarabia, Morata, Kane = Total 10 players (9 without KdB)
    B) -12 w/ above + Shaw = Total 11 players (10 without KdB)
    C) -16 w/ above + defender or forward

    Thoughts? Any other options you'd get?

        I'm not exactly planning for it, but it's the only way to get 11 players... In the end until you have 11 players the "hit" is only half because 2 points are guaranteed, so it's 8. Doesn't take many returns to hit that

      They changed the rule a while ago to stop players being suspended for the final. It used to be erased after the group phase, but players were getting second yellow cards in the semi finals and suspended for the final.

      Foden, Grealish, Mount is an interesting combo in the middle.
      Not sure I like it - Foden rotation (Grealish too if he's at City). Mount's role with Chelsea is good, but I am interested to see how they evolve.
      Strong/expensive defense.
      DCL i'm also concerned with - want to see him preseason and see how Everton chance with the new manager.

    Thought I'd share this - intreesting article on WHU players currently still in the Euros. (Coufal, Soucek, Yarmolenko, Rice)

    As I'm thinking a little more I'm expecting the Czechs to beat Denmark.
    So I'm thinking of bringing in both Coufal and Schick.
    They will pair up with Maehle and Damsgaard who I already have - so it's also an insurance move.

    For FPL I think Coufal is my second defensive choice after TAA. And actually might be my first for the price.

      I’ve had Cresswell in most of my drafts. I think Moyes is a great manager and underrated due to the stain he received after his stint at United. He will improve their defensive record and Cresswell with 11 assists last season is .5 underpriced IMO.

        Coufal had 9 assists and is .5 cheaper and I do think he is a very good pick also.

          Both are decent options, but Cresswell is only .2 or .3 better than Coufal imo. Coufal didn't play first gw:s and has therefore slightly more value for his price imo.

          I'd go with Cresswell if I could spare the extra 0.5. But on the slight chance that the Czechs get to the final, Coufal could be rested GW1.

            I got I. Cresswell around gw12 last year and he was amazing to own. Really helped me.
            Can see a case for either, think that what we end up doing with our central defense will make a difference.

      Azpi/Laporte seems a little too much given Spain have let in a lot of goals. I like Coufal as an option instead.

      I really don't see a lot of goals from England, wonder if you do Immobile instead of Kane, and then moved Lukaku/Immobile to Kane next round depending who gets knocked out.

        I am afraid of going without Kane tbh....Saw how Forsberg troubled Ukraine. That score line doesn't reflect the game accurately.

    Wijnaldum -so after Dumfries to Maguire could get mid up to 9.5 m - just short of Sterling- could get F Torres but not sure want 4 Spain, could get Insigne but that would be 5 Italians so not too sure best option-any other England mid too much of risk- any suggestions very welcome?

      Plays QF (no card), Plays SF
      Plays QF (card), misses SF
      Rests QF, plays SF

      In two of them he plays one of two games.
      In one of them he plays both.

      So 100% you chose the option that gives a chance to play both games.

        i can't compare the Ukraine match at Rome, with the semifinal at Wembley.
        They are both very important but at the semifinal, England would face a stronger opponent and you must have all your players for that match.
        I think that Ukraine won't cause any problems to England.
        Mings played at the matches against Croatia and Scotland, so it is not a guy that can't step up to this challenge.

          You might be right but I don’t think I’ve ever seen any decision like that before.

          Maguire is 100% the most important and best defender that England has. He has experience playing with cards. I would be shocked beyond belief if he was rested.

            i don't think in such crucial matches like a quarterfinal at Euro, a defender can be sure that he would not receive a yellow card at a 90 minutes match. And of course there is the chance that the game could go to extra time.
            If a Ukrainian player must be stopped, Maguire wouldn't think about the semifinal, and he would receive a yellow.
            And don't forget that the referree factor plays a sifgnificant role at yellow cards.

              "One game at a time"

              There is ZERO chance Southgate benches Maguire if fit - thinking beyond the next game is simply criminal. You also run the risk of galvanising the opposition when they realise you've underestimated / insulted them by benching your best defender.

    I know teams are getting very similar now but am top 50 GB so any little comments helpful - you might see something I’ve not spotted in this QF WC draft:

    Donna / Pick

    Spinaz / Azpi / Mæhle / Meunier / Stones - tried to spread def and focus on attacking points also.

    Sterling / Serabia / F Torres / Insigne / Dams - not sure I’m certain on Spain but figure their mids do as much as Morata and can tweak accordingly when teams in.

    Luk / Kane / Dolberg - not 100% about Luk but he does score a lot (even if I’m backing Italy) and no idea if Dolberg starts.

    Any ideas?

        Just made this change. Had to downgrade Insigne. Tbf he’s not done much. I know Berardi is a doubt but he’ll play at some point. Pessina also in my head - played well in a few games. Loca looks good but doesn’t always start and his stats just show that one better of a game he had.
