FIFA Club World Cup Fantasy 2025: Matchday 1 – Scout Picks

The FIFA Club World Cup gets underway this evening – and so it’s time to pin our colours to the mast and settle on some Matchday 1 Scout Picks.

This is for the upcoming Matchday in isolation, so no forward planning to the rest of the group stage.

We’ve tried to have a little fun with it: there’s a blend of template big hitters and lesser-owned gambles. Seven of our 15 players currently qualify for the Scouting Bonus.

Remember in FIFA Club World Cup Fantasy, you want to have a squad of 15 playable options, as manual substitutions allow you to sub out any under-performing players and bring on someone else who hasn’t played yet. No bench fodder in this game!

      Doubt it . He will want to play to get shed loads of goals then take md3 off to for a break.
      You could say the same about all the easy games .
      Going Kane C with Haaland 12th man .

      I'm with the thinking that Kane is rested for the first match so going Muller, Mbappe and Guirassy. Also going to use 12th man on Haaland in Match Day 1. Left myself enough in the bank to switch Muller to Kane for Match Day 2

    So currently I have Kane, Mbappe, Marmoush but should I go GW1 with Haaland, Meuller, Mbappe and keep the funds for Haaland or Mbappe to Kane and Meuller to ??

    I really don’t follow all these teams but can’t resist playing! Joined the FFS league as well! Any other league recommendations?

      The matchdays are based on the time zone they are played in. SL Benfica's match is on Monday at 6 PM EDT in the US which is technically Tuesday in Central European Tine

          Where are you located? I'm in the States and looking right at the schedule now. SL Benfica plays in Miami, Florida on Monday 16 June at 18:00 Eastern US time and River Plate plays in Seattle Washington on Tuesday, 17 June at 15:00 Eastern US time

            EET. Helsinki. Miami game starts 03:00 over here and the game shows matchdays spanning calendar days for my local time.

              It really shouldn't matter as you are allowed to make substitutions after every match is played as long as your sub hasn't played yet

                That's not how it works in Champions League. You can't switch captains/make subs between early and late games on the same calendar day. Thus seems like a big oversight by developers of the game :/

                  This isn't Champions League Fantasy. FFS had an entire article written on how this game works, and you can make subs after every match. Kind of explains why they had both keepers in their Scout Picks

      I've gone Muller/Kane/Guirassy and going to use 12th Man chip to get Haaland in for Matchday 1. I Left enough in the bank to switch Muller to Kane for Matchday 2 but of your choices, I'd go Mbappe/Haaland/Guirassy

    Is there any reliable place to check for Bayern predicted lineup?

    I got Olise, Kane and Guerreiro.
    Stanisic would be my backup plan if Guerreiro doesn't start.

    Are those three nailed?

      Bayern fan here. The former two were often in the starting xi for us last season. Although, not as nailed as them, he (Guerreiro) has a good chance of starting CWC games due to our injury list. Phonzie, for instance, isn’t available.

        I was/am worried about the "B-Team" reportedly being used for this game vs. Auckland, pushing those 3 mentioned players to the bench, allowing playing time to less used players and youngsters.

    They have closed the game 1 hour too early.

    Deadline was supposed to be at midnight, but i guess it has now changed to 11PM.
