If playing your limitless and wc chips in the group stages, does it matter if you choose gw 2 or gw 3 to play them?

No it doesn't matter if you are 100% certain about playing both.

Yes imo, gw2 the best. Game week 3 some teams already qualified less to play for etc.

you get more money for the knockouts (105m) presumably to cover the more expensive players from strong teams in the later rounds.

i dont think prices are dynamic, but I could be wrong

There has definitely been price changes in previous UEFA games. I'm thinking World Cup 2018, Euro 2016

They're really small, but 0.1 either way can price you out of moves.

By the end, prices have moved no more than 0.2/3 at the most. But again, it can scupper your plans.

Personally, I would downgrade alaba to fodder as he is not really going to score anything. Frees up 1.5m upgrade a defender to Bonucci. Get that bench is important but someone who is not likely to score points seems a better idea to invest elsewhere.

I wouldn’t remove Alaba. Your team looks pretty solid and you can rotate the 15 players. Alaba is a quality player and could easily get a goal or assist given his usual positioning for Austria. He’s also playing north Macedonia who whilst aren’t a horrible team are poor defensively

not loving Alaba or Yaz. for a team thats only got 2 power forwards there is no way you should be having these compromises in midfield as well.

As you've read, I'm being different & not using chips during groups ..... so with yours at md3, you reduce your requirement on holding a transfer for unseen, but I'd still bank on using only one, and then use two if it works out.
For me, that meant dropping a 9m mid (Eriksen) for an 8.5m mid in md1, to ensure two reasonable games & a transfer up my sleeve.

dont know but 5mln for a portugal defender is a bargain,

That defense is a bit too expensive for me.

I don't see particularly good value in Italy defense personally. You can make a really nice 4.5m defensive rotation. I've seen no one with Turkey or Ukraine defense because they have a 'weaker' MD1 game but they're good picks because their MD2 is great and if you're LL in MD3 you need guys like that.

i suppose thats what not having the 3rd power forward can buy you (as well as a better midfield)

one thing i like about the Italians (and the Spanish) is they are the only established teams with 2 decent fixtures at least based on the clean sheet odds

Can't stop tinkering. Think in fairly settled on the following and would love some dissection:
    Donnarumma, Hradecky
    Maehle, Denayer, Wijndal, Alioski, PTorres
    FTorres, Olmo, Insigne, Jota
    Lukaku, Griezmann, Depay

Limitless MD2 and likely WC MD3

I know Griezmann and Jota are pretty punt-ey and the backline is cheap... Keen to hear thoughts

    1. artvandelay316
      • 3 Years
      3 years, 9 hours ago

With Jota and Griezmann being punty, you need some certainties elsewhere. Insigne is a good option but that could easily end up being a cagey match with a low score, or 0-0. Are you happy putting all your main goal chances on 3 players?

      1. Dr. Rog
        • 14 Years
        3 years, 8 hours ago

Griezmann isnt punty at all. Completely nailed.
Actually the best differential premium in the game.

        1. Riska

To respond to you both, I guess by punty I agree with ARTVANDELAY316 that France/ Germany could be a fairly cagey affair so if I'm considering a limitless in MD2 then might be better to check the temperature. However, Grizmann's underlying stats and his international history is impossible to ignore. Even against Germany and their relatively tricky group, France look too strong. My thought with Olmo and Jota is they both have excellent recent int records and in general relatively good scoring records for clubs/country. It does worry me somewhat to triple up on Spain, but I'm not really seeing better options for their price points... happy to take advice though, if someone disagrees (you got any thoughts DR. ROG)?

          1. Dr. Rog
            • 14 Years

Olmo is a fine choice. I want 3 spain as well and decided to get 2 defenders.

The 7 bracket is a good one there are plenty of options across many teams: Mount, Chiesa are reasonably popular, but if you do a bit of diggin there are some left field picks as well (Malinovski, Shaqiri, Currasco, Zielinkski, Baumgarter, Berghuis) - all come with their pro's and con's.

Fresh from LTFPL vid & Eriksen has a healthy goal involvement per 90 compared to other day 1 options.
And I don't trust Mount either given the options in this Eng squad. Different story in FPL.

Don’t trust Mount why? He’s one of the few names nailed on in that team

There's 6 spots up top Pukki. Kane. Pundits are spruiking Grealish, Rashford, Sancho, Foden.
I reckon Grealish will get a run as a false 9 allowed to drift out ..... so that means Kane, Grealish, two wingers.
I know Mount is capable, but minutes & aggression : "IF" Mount is one of the two defensive mids, is he suited to the role and will he get near the box ?
Perhaps I'm off. When Grealish gets a trot, perhaps he'll hold a wing position but given license to fill that complete attacking mid/ball player void ?

I think England will play something like this

                  Walker Stones Another Shaw
                  ---------- Kane ---------
                  Rice Henderson Mount
                  Foden ------------- Grealish

Wijn looks like a trap to me.

Yes has great qualifying stats (and a wonderful highlights reel - check out the bbc website) when playing in the hole, but recent formation changes have put him back in the pivot.

its a good MD1 template, as everyone is over optimising for that. fine if you are locking in LL2, but otherwise its pretty horrific for MD2 imo.

Got Torress, Deneyar & Wijnal atm, can't see many CS's for the other 2 and who knows if Alioski will even get any attacking returns which is his big selling point. Barisic is an okay alternative and only owned by 1% but Croatia poor defensively and England in match 1 so hard to find a good 4.5 alternative that will keep many CS's

I have 5 of those... But I'm the only person I've seen with a Ukraine defender. Might also get a Turkish defender in there.

If the Dutch continue with a 5-3-2, it'll be a short training time-line for that set-up ..... Malinovskiy is my pick for md 1 & 2.

    Hi,
thoughts on this squad? I am going to use limitless in week 2.

    Schmeichel - Hradecky
    Rodriguez - Kjaer - Denayer - P. Torres - Hinteregger
    Eriksen - F Torres - D Alaba - Insigne - Jota
    Lewandowski - Depay - G. Moreno

Still thinking to change Lewa --> Lukaku but Poland play against Slovakia and Lewa take free throws and pens

    in GW3 - Lewa/Lukaku --> Kane
    Jota --> Calhanoglu

How many starters do you think you'll have in MD3?

If there is some rotation due to qualification Depay/Torres/Insigne could easily be rested. On the plys side Moreno might come good for that week 🙂

I think anyone on the LL2 strategy is pretty much locking in a MD3 wildcard.

Now, it hard to say. That's why i consider to use wildcard MD3. But I think that Italy after the match with Turkey in GW1 and Holland after the match with Austria in GW2 will fight for the first place in group in GW3 🙂

Keepers play same day MD3 which limits your flexibility to retain wildcard

    Depay or Benzema folks?

Depay: form of his life (in the french league), on pens, Ukr/Aus seem alright on paper even if both are a bit park the bus teams, downside holland may actually flop bigtime.

Benz: good form, maybe on pens although he missed one, strongest team in the competition, Ger/Hun one looks like a cricket score the other seems pretty tough. downside some rotation risk with Giroud.

I'm on Benzema. People forget how great he is and he has the best supporting cast out of any #9.

I can see them starting out very strong against Germany who have been unconvincing and even if it's a tight game, they have Hungary in MD2 where they will surely net a few.

Foden & Torres the pick of that bracket for me.

Have Torres and I think it's very tough to call who will start between Grealish or Foden. Might just have to stick with Gini then.
