Fantasy Premier League (FPL) has relaunched for 2022/23 and we have everything you need to set you up for the new campaign.

All of our pre-season content will be collated on this page, which will be regularly refreshed between now and Gameweek 1, so make sure you bookmark it now and revisit it regularly.

Any information we learn from the various pre-season friendlies, be it line-ups, goals, assists or wider Fantasy talking points, will also be documented here. • Mikel Arteta started and finished pre-season in the familiar 4-3-3 shape although did dally with a 3-5-2 on occasion to fit Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus in the same side.
• The same starting XI featured in the final two pre-season friendlies, suggesting that will be the side that starts in Gameweek 1.
• Emile Smith Rowe, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Fabio Vieira and Kieran Tierney are all working their way back from injury ahead of Gameweek 1, with Mikel Arteta saying recently that “most of them will be” available.
• Bukayo Saka took a penalty in the win over Sevilla, although he did win it, too. The winner of the last three spot-kicks that Arsenal have been awarded in the league have taken it (Saka x2, Martinelli x1).

Scout Notes in Brief:

• Steven Gerrard has flip-flopped between a 4-3-1-2 and a 4-3-3 in pre-season, ending the summer in the latter set-up with Leon Bailey and Philippe Coutinho either side of Ollie Watkins.
• Coutinho missed from the spot in Aston Villa’s win over Leeds with one regular taker, Danny Ings, off the field but Ollie Watkins on it. Ings later scored a penalty in the same game but Gerrard suggested he hadn’t finalised his first-choice taker.
• Eight players – Emiliano Martinez, Diego Carlos, Lucas Digne, John McGinn, Boubacar Kamara, Ollie Watkins and Philippe Coutinho – started both of Villa’s final two friendlies.
• Ezri Konsa and Douglas Luiz were given the nod in the final pre-season friendly against Rennes, with deposed skipper Tyrone Mings and Jacob Ramsey both instead part of a team that took part in a behind-closed-doors match on Friday.

• Scott Parker said after the defeat to Real Sociedad on Saturday that he “wouldn’t want to” return to the back four that he used in the promotion-winning campaign, having favoured a wing-back system in pre-season. However, due to the dearth of trusted stoppers outside of captain Lloyd Kelly, Parker did add that a 4-3-3 “may have to be an option” against Villa.
• Chris Mepham and James Hill, both unfancied in the Championship last season, started alongside Kelly in the final pre-season friendly.

• Thomas Frank switched to a 4-3-3 in the final quarter of 2021/22, saving his usual 3-5-2 for the tougher-on-paper games, and has persevered with the four-at-the-back set-up in pre-season.

• Graham Potter has stuck with a 3-5-2 over the summer, having ended 2021/22 in that system.
• The friendlies against Reading and Espanyol gave us the biggest clue as to Potter’s intention for his Gameweek 1 line-up, with nine players starting both: they were Robert Sanchez, Lewis Dunk, Joel Veltman, Leandro Trossard, Moises Caicedo, Alexis Mac Allister, Pascal Gross, Solly March and Danny Welbeck.

• Thomas Tuchel did experiment with a back four during pre-season but ended the summer in the same 3-4-3 set-up he used for much of 2021/22.
• Ben Chilwell, still struggling for fitness after a long-term lay-off, wasn’t part of what looked to be a first-choice XI in the penultimate friendly against Udinese.
• Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz all started the final two first-team friendlies, with Sterling through the middle against Udinese.
• Mount had actually been used in central midfield against Arsenal but returned to a more attacking role v Udinese.

• Frank Lampard stated his desire to move to a 4-3-3 in pre-season but after watching his side thrashed by Minnesota when using a back four, reverted to a 3-4-3 for the final two friendlies.
• No Everton defender played more pre-season minutes than the £4.0m-rated Nathan Patterson, although Seamus Coleman’s absence through injury contributed to that.
• Patterson and fellow wing-back Vitalii Mykolenko were pushed high in the 3-4-3, contributing four attacking returns between them.

• Budget midfielder Andreas Pereira has been heavily involved in set plays over the summer.
• Marco Silva has stuck with the 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 system he used in the Championship last year.

• Leicester’s match against Leuven took place over 120 minutes.
• Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that his two £4.0m goalkeepers, Daniel Iversen and Danny Ward, will be his senior options this season after Kasper Schmeichel’s exit. Ward is the favourite to get the nod.
• Youri Tielemans has been left out of the line-up in the last two first-team friendlies, amid rumours of the Belgian midfielder wanting to leave.
• Timothy Castagne was ‘out of position’ on the right wing in the win over Sevilla but an injury to Ricardo Pereira saw him return to a full-back role.
