There’s a huge wait before we get to the next Gameweek, of course! A bumper international break, in which some countries are contesting four matches, means that there is a three-week gap between Gameweeks 5 and 6.
Expect a deluge of yellow flags to appear, then, as knocks, niggles and maybe even some actual injuries force players to withdraw from their national team squads…
A lot of Fantasy managers will be using the downtime to play their first Wildcard in 2026/27. That could come in handy if we do indeed witness the usual wave of knocks and niggles.
For the rest of us, it’s a case of keeping fingers crossed and hoping our jet-setting players return unscathed ahead of Gameweek 6.
When the action does return, we’ve got a juicy Liverpool v Manchester City fixture to look forward to, plus more favourable fixtures for Everton, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest. Fulham, meanwhile, kick off a run of three consecutive games in which they face newly promoted opposition.
